Quality Control Technician, 1st Shift

About the Role
The QA Control Technician will be responsible for performing inspections upon receipt of materials and recommending disposition. They will also review finished products for conformance to Mechanical Prints, conduct in-process checks to ensure compliance with procedures and ASME Code regulations, and work closely with other departments to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals.
Responsibilities
- Understand and adhere to company Quality Control procedures, as related to overall inspection requirements.
- Cooperate with production personnel and supervision to ensure maximum production with optimum quality, as established by management.
- Inspect incoming, in-process, and outgoing material, parts, and assemblies to specifications and Mechanical Prints following standard shop practice and/or special instructions.
- Perform specific calibrations, tests, and evaluations for acceptance or rejection determinations according to written instructions and records the results.
- Initiate NCRs and communicate with vendors to resolve issues.
- Dispose of rejected material.
- Work in conjunction with other departments to meet goals of safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Vocational or associate degree pertaining to position preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Able to use standard and metric tape measures, calibers, weld gauges, etc.
- Must be or become CI/QAI (Certified Individual/Quality Authorized Inspector) certified within 90 days in this position as well as Liquid Penetrant certified.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word.
- Closed vision, distant vision, color vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong analytical skills and experience reading drawings/prints.
- Previous experience inspecting components and writing technical reports preferred.
- Detail-oriented.
- Able to perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending, stooping, reaching, and may frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
- Able to perform work in a medium industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, fumes, gases, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, vibration, climbing ladders/stairs, and working in cramped quarters.
- Able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Pay and Schedule
Starting Pay: $28.97/hr, with compensation adjusted based on experience and qualifications. 1st Shift Schedule: Monday-Thursday | 6:00am-4:30pm. Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly.
