This role is based at our DNV office in Seattle, WA or Portland, OR. While tied to a specific location, we will consider qualified candidates in other U.S. locations such as San Diego, CA, Oakland, CA, Austin, TX, Houston, TX, or Medford, MA.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll help deliver high-quality wind and solar measurement campaigns by coordinating subcontractors, customer priorities, and technical inputs, ensuring work is completed safely and meeting customer expectations. Your work will focus on planning, coordination, technical judgment, and clear communication.

  • Act as project manager for meteorological station installations and service campaigns, including:
    • Serve as key point of contact for customers, helping translate technical requirements into clear plans and maintaining strong, trusted relationships throughout the project.
    • Organize and oversee subcontractor schedules and mobilizations for on-site installation and commissioning of equipment, often with last-minute changes.
    • Remotely support technical troubleshooting (meteorological sensors, data acquisitions systems, etc.).
    • Work collaboratively with various stakeholders to resolve issues in a time-critical manner.
    • Ensure projects are completed safely in accordance with DNV safety procedures and industry best practices.
  • Consulting, designing, procuring, and preparing instrumentation suites for measurements.
  • Data monitoring, authoring and reviewing technical plans and reports.
  • Coordinate delivery of all projects with team leaders, prioritizing:
    • Customer satisfaction
    • Timeliness, quality, and on-budget deliverables
    • Uncovering opportunities to add value
  • Field Engagement (optional, 0%-15% of working hours, based on interest and project needs):
    • Observe or support inspection, verification, and commissioning of measurement systems.
    • Climb wind turbines and meteorological masts.
    • Troubleshoot data acquisition systems and sensors.
  • Additional tasks may include:
    • Support business development through lead generation and proposal writing.
    • Develop tools and processes to continuously improve quality, safety, and value delivered to customers.
    • Attend and participate in regional, department, section, and training meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental or atmospheric science, or related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) or more years’ experience managing field crews and related project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, or safety.
  • Curiosity and interest in digital tools, data systems, and emerging technologies, with a willingness to explore and adopt new solutions.
  • Attention to detail and curiosity for real answers from data (how, why, what, when).
  • Strong overall Microsoft suite skills and ability to learn multiple software tools.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks, typing, sitting, and interacting with computers and computer systems most of the day.
  • Normal office environment; occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs., regular walking, sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and reaching.
  • Ability to occasionally air travel to wind and solar sites, other offices, and conferences (up to 15% annually, sometimes long distance).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to rent and drive a car and travel on public conveyances when required.
  • Ability to travel by car up to six hours and walk on uneven terrain.

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a consulting environment.

Pay

The range of starting pay for this role is $90,000 - $140,000 USD, influenced by factors such as skill set, level of experience, and specific location.
