Technical Project Manager

About the role

Molex’s Copper Solutions Business Unit (CSBU) is seeking a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead New Product Development (NPD) projects globally. This role involves partnering with Product Managers, leading cross-functional teams, and managing projects from initiation to production.

Responsibilities

• Partner to Product Manager: Ensure seamless integration of Molex’s technology projects with customer-specific and general market projects.
• Project Team Leader: Lead multiple NPD projects simultaneously, collaborating with global teams and customers.
• Develop Project Charters: Create clear project strategies, scopes, financials, and schedules, both internally and externally.
• Manage Project Reporting: Communicate project progress to management and customers effectively.
• Lead Project Management: Execute change control, documentation, and project closure.
• Macro Project Scheduling: Develop and manage macro schedules, ensuring accountability for micro schedules.
• Mentor Team Members: Teach project management principles, PDP processes, risk management, issue resolution, decision-making, etc.
• Identify and Document Risks: Proactively reduce risks affecting project plans, such as cost, quality, and timing.
• Work with Suppliers: Ensure suppliers meet Molex’s expectations for timing, cost, and quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, business, supply management, or related field.
• At least 4 years of Project Management experience.
• Experience leading projects with Product Development.
• Experience with customer-facing roles or external executive-facing experience.
• Experience leading multi-national teams.
• Experience in matrix environments.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%-25% of time.
• Ability to work mornings and evenings to accommodate global meetings.
• Ability to obtain PMP certification within 1 year.

Qualifications

• Experience leading projects in a global environment.
• Fluency in Spanish preferred.
• PMP Certified.
• Master’s Degree (MS, MBA, SAP).

What You Will Do

Partner with Product Managers to ensure Molex’s technology projects align with customer-specific and general market projects. Lead multiple NPD projects simultaneously, collaborating with global teams and customers. Develop and manage project charters, communicate project progress to management and customers, and lead the project management function. Manage project change control, documentation, and closure, and lead and mentor team members in project management principles, PDP processes, risk management, issue resolution, decision making, etc. Proactively identify, document, and execute risk reduction activities to minimize project risks associated with cost, quality, and/or timing that could negatively affect project plan achievement. Work with suppliers to ensure they meet Molex’s expectations for timing, cost, and quality in support of the project plan.

Pay

$120,000 - $165,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
