About the role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager (based out of our Palo Alto, CA office) to lead the development, release, and delivery of EMR/EHR integration solutions that connect our precision oncology platforms to healthcare provider systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead agile teams developing APIs, integration middleware, and FHIR-based data services connecting oncology software to EMR/EHR systems.
  • Facilitate all scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives), ensuring strong alignment between technical deliverables and clinical data requirements.
  • Coach teams on Agile practice to improve delivery predictability and quality.
  • Ensure integration features meet healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, HITRUST, FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, integration engineers, and healthcare IT stakeholders to define and prioritize integration backlogs.
  • Own the release lifecycle for EMR/EHR integrations — from planning and validation to deployment and monitoring.
  • Coordinate cross-functional testing with QA, Clinical Operations, and external EHR vendors.
  • Maintain integration release calendars, regression plans, and change management documentation.
  • Communicate release scope, timelines, and risks to stakeholders across engineering, compliance, and partner organizations.
  • Manage technical projects that support bi-directional integration between oncology diagnostic systems and provider EHRs.
  • Define scope, milestones, and success metrics for data exchange initiatives (lab results delivery, order entry, patient matching).
  • Partner with internal and external teams to design scalable, secure, and standards-compliant interfaces.
  • Oversee development and deployment of APIs and microservices supporting interoperability with major EMR/EHR vendors.
  • Ensure documentation and validation artifacts support audit and regulatory readiness.
  • Utilize JIRA, Confluence, and similar tools to manage technical tasks, track dependencies, and report progress.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in software delivery, technical project management, or release management within healthcare IT or diagnostics.
  • Proven track record leading Agile teams delivering EMR/EHR integration or healthcare interoperability solutions.
  • Understanding of EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or Allscripts and their integration frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based architecture (AWS, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines for healthcare applications.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and clinical domains.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly around data integrity and compliance documentation.
  • Proactive communicator comfortable managing cross-functional and vendor-facing relationships.
  • Adaptable and calm under pressure when managing multiple releases and dependencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist, or PMP certification.
  • Experience in oncology, genomics, or diagnostic data systems.
  • Familiarity with SMART on FHIR apps, and healthcare API gateway management.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards such as HIPAA, HITRUST, CLIA, CAP, and FDA 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Experience with validated software processes under a Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Exposure to laboratory information systems (LIS/LIMS) and clinical order/result workflows.
  • AI & Digital Fluency.
