About the role
Omega Technical Services is seeking a highly motivated Technical Project Manager 3 to support ongoing operations in Los Alamos, NM. This position is hybrid with remote and onsite work required. The Technical Project Manager (TPM) manages and ensures the timely completion of discrete technical or operational projects; establishes technical requirements; defines project deliverables, budgets, and schedules; and oversees the project team in planning, tracking, and execution from initiation to completion.
Projects involve related activities within the Line-Item Projects Project Controls program, requiring the ability to produce specific products or provide services to meet customer requirements. TPMs develop or maintain processes to meet programmatic needs and produce work products defined by the hiring manager. Responsibilities include cost analysis/control, planning, and scheduling for projects with significant non-routine requirements or high technical complexity.
Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure timely completion of discrete technical or operational projects.
- Establish technical requirements, define deliverables, budgets, and schedules.
- Oversee project teams in planning, tracking, and execution from initiation to completion.
- Develop or maintain processes to meet specific programmatic needs and produce required work products.
- Perform cost analysis, control, and planning for projects with non-routine or highly technical requirements.
- Identify, analyze, and provide innovative solutions to cost and schedule challenges.
- Ensure work is completed as scheduled and identify cost trends for management attention.
- Support project scheduling using Primavera P6, including data quality checks, integration tasks, and schedule analysis.
- Support project cost management using Cobra and EVMS processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across technical and business domains to align solutions with project objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Must pass a pre-employment screening, including drug and breath alcohol test, and Motor Vehicle Record check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, Primavera P6, and Cobra.
- Demonstrated initiative and independence—able to take a concept from idea to delivered product without heavy direction.
- Strong communication skills across both technical and business contexts.
- Experience in project controls within DOE/NNSA.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous-improvement mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Possession of an active DOE/DoD clearance within the past two (2) years.
- Previous DOE/NNSA work experience.
- Knowledge of LANL Project Controls procedures, policies, and processes, and DOE O 413.3B EVMS requirements.
Pay
USD $200,000.00 - USD $250,000.00 per year.
