Technical Program Mgr
At NetApp, your ideas power innovation. We lead in intelligent data infrastructure—delivering unified storage, integrated data services, and solutions that help organizations unlock the full potential of their data, from AI to multicloud. Ready to innovate and contribute to our path to $10B? Here, you'll collaborate with passionate teams, tackle real-world challenges, and see your impact in how customers transform and grow.
About the role
As a Senior Technical Program Manager for Google Data Center (GDC) partnership, you will serve as the primary liaison between Google and NetApp engineering—translating partner priorities into actionable engineering plans and driving delivery through to resolution. You will apply cloud and storage platform expertise to understand architecture, dependencies, and tradeoffs across Google-facing deliverables spanning multiple NetApp Products. You will operate independently in a fast-paced, matrixed environment: triaging and tracking incoming asks through Product Variance Requests, aligning prioritization with Google and NetApp counterparts, partnering with Product Management to shape requirements and secure engineering commitments, and keeping stakeholders informed through delivery.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison between Google and NetApp engineering—building trusted relationships on both sides and ensuring clear communication, alignment, and follow-through on shared commitments.
- Own partner-facing program delivery for Google deliverables across NetApp products covering infrastructure, Kubernetes/container storage integration, and NetApp’s object storage—from intake through engineering execution and release or resolution.
- Apply cloud and storage platform expertise to understand architecture, dependencies, and technical tradeoffs; facilitate productive discussions with architects and engineers on both sides.
- Track and manage incoming asks through the Product Variance Request (PVR) process—capturing scope, validating feasibility, maintaining visibility, and ensuring asks are routed to the right owners with clear status.
- Drive prioritization with Google and NetApp counterparts—balancing partner urgency, business impact, engineering capacity, and strategic alignment across a dynamic request pipeline.
- Partner with Product Management to translate partner asks into well-defined requirements, secure engineering commitments, and maintain traceability from ask to delivery.
- Build and maintain integrated program plans including milestones, dependencies, owners, and risks; proactively surface blockers and drive mitigation across organizational boundaries.
- Provide stakeholder tracking and reporting to Google, engineering leadership, and internal partners—executive-ready status on priorities, progress, risks, and delivery timelines.
- Support cases and escalations affecting Google environments—triage issues, coordinate between Google Support, NetApp support, and engineering, and drive root-cause analysis and resolution with clear ownership and follow-up.
- Operate independently with strong judgment in a matrixed, partner-facing environment—anticipating needs, driving next steps across time zones and organizations, and escalating when decisions require leadership input.
- Run work in Agile, waterfall, or hybrid models as appropriate—adapting planning and operating rhythms to partner cadence, release constraints, and team practices.
- Influence without direct authority across engineering, product, support, and partner teams; resolve conflicts and build consensus on priorities, scope, and delivery commitments.
- Improve partner program efficiency through practical process discipline and tooling (Jira, dashboards, tracking systems, automation) where it adds value.
Requirements
- 10–12+ years in technical program management, partner engineering, release management, or equivalent leadership of complex cross-organizational software programs.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: Cloud platform and enterprise storage experience; partner or customer-facing TPM background; familiarity with Kubernetes/container storage, object storage, or hybrid cloud deployments; PMP or equivalent a plus.
