About the role

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Support the strategic development of phased power solutions to meet data center demand, ranging from immediate to long-term requirements.
    • This includes integrating systems that utilize High Voltage (HV) or Medium Voltage(MV) utility infrastructure alongside Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and power generation technologies.
  • Be responsible for driving design and engineering management of campus level infrastructure solutions, collaborating with cross-functional partners and resolving challenges effectively.
  • Bridge the gap between commercial acquisition and technical operations by ensuring that all project-related activities, methodologies, and deliverables strictly conform to NERC, FERC codes, and applicable regulatory frameworks.
  • Define a global reference architecture for on-site power generation that optimizes costs, reliability, and carbon reduction.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging power technologies by building rigorous technical cases to support major capital investments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, another relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer or equivalent.
  • 8 years of experience in program or technical project management in the energy industry.
  • Experience managing relationships and leading transmission and distribution, or substation, or mission critical utility infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with hybrid infrastructure environments, HV-MV-LV, and energy management and smarter grid Solutions.

Preferred qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license with a focus on Electrical Power or Mechanical Systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts and strategy to VP-level executives.
  • Techical publications or patents related to power systems, generation or energy storage.
