About the Role

This Technical Program Manager (TPM) role is a key position within the Delivery Optimization team in HR Systems & Solutions. The TPM will ensure HR programs, projects, and processes are effectively defined, delivered on time, and meet accuracy standards. Responsibilities include regulating service delivery, coordination, communication, identifying optimization needs, and managing program governance. The role serves as the central point for presentation and report development to support business meetings and requirements. The TPM will partner internally with HR and externally with business partners across the organization, requiring strong skills in delivering results, planning, project execution, reporting, and stakeholder management. This is both a hands-on and strategic role, demanding creativity, data fluency, facilitation, influencing, and mentoring skills to bring the Workday technical roadmap to life.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold Delivery Optimization standards as a center of quality, productivity, and reliability.
  • Ensure systems, procedures, and methodologies support outstanding service delivery, including managing key communications and meeting cadences.
  • Analyze internal processes and create strategies for service delivery optimization, focusing on simplification, process improvement, restructuring, and employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with HR, Operations, IT, Finance, and product owners to define technical needs and develop a product optimization roadmap.
  • Maintain high performance levels for service-related processes and implement improvement activities as needed.
  • Adapt to shifting priorities and changing business demands, managing ambiguity and delivering results with urgency.
  • Listen and drive alignment through communications and leadership, cultivating a network of internal and external leaders.
  • Lead cross-team and multi-phase projects from design through implementation, emphasizing security and scalability.
  • Develop a deep understanding of projects to gain insights into service delivery scope.
  • Lead project planning, establish problem statements, success criteria, business benefits, benchmarks, and dependencies while mitigating technical feasibility risks.
  • Facilitate cross-functional discussions to resolve risks, issues, and change requests.
  • Analyze performance against plans and adjust to meet objectives and timelines.
  • Document major plan changes in scope, approach, and delivery dates.
  • Maintain detailed project records and produce timely reports and presentations.
  • Conduct project risk assessments and create mitigation plans for portfolio derailments.
  • Take accountability for technical service delivery performance and customer expectations.
  • Define a simplified communication strategy to summarize progress, status, risks, and issues for program participants and project streams.
  • Adjust communication content based on customer needs and report program health objectively to all company levels.
  • Prepare modeling tools, dashboards, and data visualizations; analyze data to identify trends and develop recommendations.
  • Conduct research and analysis, present recommendations to senior management, and drive program implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant program management experience leading highly complex projects in the HR space (Workday experience preferred).
  • Proven track record in multi-team (business/technical/operations/systems) project delivery and support.
  • PMP, Six Sigma, or similar credentials preferred.
  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and modern Cloud technologies and systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with Jira, Confluence, Excel, Visio, MS Project (or equivalent), and PowerPoint.
  • Extensive knowledge of the system development life cycle and Workday solution alternatives and strategies.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, presentation, documentation, troubleshooting, and collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to influence leaders and drive consensus across participant groups.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and tackle complex technical and business challenges.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Workday (Core HCM, Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, Recruiting, etc.), data visualizations (Excel, Tableau), and HR technologies.

Pay

The base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $160,000. The specific salary offered may be influenced by factors such as relevant experience, education, and work location.
