Our client, a leader in advanced mobility and autonomous technology, is seeking a Technical Program Manager to support next-generation hardware development programs. This role will oversee the full product development lifecycle, partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional stakeholders to bring complex hardware systems from concept through validation and into production.

Schedule

  • 6-month contract
  • 40 hours per week
  • Hybrid, minimum 3 days onsite per week
  • Location: Foster City, CA

Requirements

  • 6+ years of Technical Program Management or Engineering Program Management experience
  • Proven experience managing hardware development programs from concept through EVT, DVT, PVT, and production ramp
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working closely with contract manufacturers throughout development and production phases
  • Strong understanding of hardware product development processes and manufacturing operations
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams across hardware, software, firmware, systems engineering, procurement, and operations
  • Strong project planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication skills
  • Proficiency with Jira, project schedules, Gantt charts, and program management tools
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and effectively manage competing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive, autonomous vehicle, robotics, or consumer electronics experience
  • Experience managing integrated hardware and software development programs
  • Exposure to functional safety processes and requirements
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Experience supporting mass production and post-production sustaining activities

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end program management of hardware development initiatives from concept, architecture, and design through production ramp
  • Build and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, deliverables, and product roadmaps
  • Coordinate activities across hardware, software, firmware, systems, procurement, manufacturing, and vehicle development teams
  • Partner with contract manufacturers to plan prototype, engineering, and validation builds
  • Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) feedback into development processes
  • Identify program risks early and drive mitigation plans to resolution
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, establish clear decision points, and remove execution roadblocks
  • Create and deliver program status updates, risk assessments, and executive-level reporting
  • Track dependencies, align priorities, and ensure stakeholders remain informed throughout the development lifecycle
  • Support strategic and operational decision-making across engineering, finance, and business teams
