Technical Program Manager, Electronic Warfare

Vadum Inc. · Raleigh, NC · 1 mo ago

About the role

We need someone who understands the technology, can lead the people building it, earns the trust of our customers, and takes ownership of getting the mission done. This is not a role for someone who simply tracks schedules, runs meetings, and reports status.

What you’ll own

  • Lead complex EW programs; own technical performance, cost, schedule, risk, and customer commitments.
  • Partner with engineering to turn mission requirements into executable development plans and drive execution alongside technical teams.
  • Build customer trust as a key interface with government customers, communicating technical direction, progress, risk, and priorities.
  • Drive mission delivery by identifying challenges early, removing barriers, and keeping teams focused on delivering working capability.
  • Grow what works by developing growth and transition strategies that move successful R&D toward operational use.
  • Shape what comes next by identifying new opportunities and actively participating in capture, program definition, and proposal efforts.
  • Lead from within the team by mentoring technical teams, creating clarity, and strengthening how Vadum executes.

Who you are

You’re technically credible enough to work alongside engineers and communicate complex ideas, but you can also walk into a room with senior customers and focus the conversation on what matters. You take ownership. You make decisions when information is incomplete. You ask hard questions. You work alongside the team, remove barriers, and create the momentum that moves programs from ideas to outcomes.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 5+ years leading technical programs or teams in defense R&D
  • Experience with Electronic Warfare, RF engineering, signal processing, or related technologies
  • Experience managing technical programs with responsibility for budget, schedule, staffing, risk, and performance
  • Experience working directly with government customers
  • Strong technical, communication, and leadership skills
  • Experience with capture, proposals, or new program development
  • A bias toward action, accountability, and execution

Why Vadum

Since 2004, Vadum has built advanced technology to solve difficult problems in national defense. We’re growing and moving technologies beyond R&D and toward operational capability. That means opportunities for people who want more ownership, more impact, and less bureaucracy. Your decisions will matter. Your work will be visible. You’ll work directly with engineers, customers, and company leadership to build capabilities that matter to the mission.
