The Technical Program Manager - Capacity Management position is seeking an experienced technical leader to drive infrastructure capacity planning and operational excellence across complex enterprise environments.
About the role
This is a fully remote position offering the opportunity to work across distributed global teams. Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end capacity planning and forecasting initiatives, developing and improving operational processes, and partnering with engineering teams to support architectural planning and technical prioritization.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end capacity planning and forecasting initiatives across large-scale production and infrastructure environments.
- Develop, improve, and standardize operational processes, documentation, and workflows to enhance scalability and efficiency.
- Identify operational risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies proactively while implementing mitigation strategies.
- Manage complex technical programs involving multiple engineering teams, ensuring successful delivery against milestones and business objectives.
- Partner closely with engineering teams to support architectural planning, implementation decisions, and technical prioritization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for enterprise stakeholders, facilitating planning sessions, executive updates, and status reviews.
- Translate business objectives into actionable technical programs while balancing competing priorities and customer expectations.
- Contribute to continuous operational improvements through data-driven insights, process optimization, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
- 5-10+ years of experience managing complex technical programs in enterprise technology environments.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end technical initiatives with ownership of production systems or large operational environments.
- Strong background in infrastructure capacity planning, forecasting, and operational process improvement.
- Experience working directly with enterprise clients in consulting, professional services, or customer-facing technical roles.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and on-premises environments.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Apache Spark, and large-scale production infrastructure is highly preferred.
- Ability to understand technical architectures, evaluate engineering tradeoffs, and collaborate effectively with software and infrastructure engineering teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management, executive communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience managing risks, priorities, and cross-functional dependencies.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable making decisions in complex, fast-moving environments.
