Technical Program Manager

About the role

Meta’s Product Technical Program Management (TPM) community is pioneering technologies to bring people (and businesses) closer together at a global scale. Product TPMs work at the cross-section between technical execution and business strategy, partnering closely with Engineering and Product teams. As a TPM at Meta, you’ll drive impact by delivering measurable results across a wide range of areas, including Ads, Business Integrity, Monetization, Commerce, Business Messaging, Privacy, Social Impact, Central Integrity, Growth, Central Metrics, Internationalization, Platforms for Family of Apps, Groups, Search, Foundation, Infra, the Metaverse, and more.

You will lead technical strategy and execution on company-wide platforms and services used across Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, and Reality Labs. This role involves defining and guiding high-level goals and roadmaps, monitoring progress, communicating updates, and defining functional requirements for new products and features. A strong technical background, understanding of system architecture, and experience collaborating across functions are essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage end-to-end technical product solutions and ensure on-time delivery
• Manage and own cross-functional products and programs execution in a matrix organization
• Drive and influence technical and product strategy, proactively identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies
• Align on priorities and set direction for broadly cross-functional areas
• Help define the roadmap and long-term strategy of the teams you work with
• Design measurements to track impact and drive internal process improvements
• Articulate the technology, requirements, goals, and milestones of your team
• Collaboratively define the vision for building Meta-scale, state-of-the-art, global products
• Develop and manage end-to-end project plans, ensuring on-time delivery and quality assurance
• Move fast in a flat organization by coordinating with technical program managers, product managers, and engineers to establish a shared vision
• Communicate planning, project status, issues, and risks in a timely fashion to stakeholders
• Help drive product decisions to align with higher company initiatives
• Establish shared goals with product teams to build alignment and scale products for Meta

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience
• Experience driving and delivering complex tech programs or products from inception to delivery
• Experience defining strategic direction and identifying new opportunities for impact among products, platforms, and programs
• Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope
• Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams and functions, demonstrating critical thinking and thought leadership
• Communication experience at the executive level, influencing senior leadership to develop systems, solutions, and products
• Organizational, coordination, and multi-tasking experience
• Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems
• Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones
• Experience working with product teams to build and deliver end-to-end customer-focused products with technical knowledge of underlying platforms and technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

Pay

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The annual base salary range for this role is $168,000 to $234,000, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
