About the role

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It involves Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the design, development, testing and deployment of features into production across multiple technical teams.
  • Create and track project milestones, risks and dependencies, and prioritize all technical requirements associated with delivery.
  • Dive deep into the design details of systems in your area, especially those related to customer interfaces, and understand system dependencies during early project phases.
  • Identify and estimate work required to change existing systems or services to implement new capabilities, and work with the SDM for each system.
  • Develop and implement the implementation plan across teams, and report on progress against technical milestones to stakeholders.
  • Understand significant business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons behind architectural choices.
  • Demonstrate good judgment in escalating issues, regularly review metrics, and proactively seek out new data/mechanisms for visibility.
  • Ensure programs stay aligned with organizational goals, align stakeholder needs, and drive mindful discussions leading to crisp decisions.
  • Partner with customers, internal/external teams, and engineering teams to determine what projects move forward and in what sequence.
  • Create effective narratives, program updates, and present them effectively to stakeholders and management team.
  • Create plans with clear, measurable success criteria and return on investment.
  • Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee the gap between teams, processes, and system architectures, and reduce exposure to classic failure modes.

  • Apply organizational expertise, excellent communication skills, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience working directly with software engineering teams.
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)/Service Level Agreements (SLAs) used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Proven track record of delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives while managing multiple competing priorities.
  • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Experience with Confluence, JIRA.
  • Experience with data analysis to capture, process, and organize data to uncover actionable insights.
