About the role

The Technical Product Process Supervisor will manage designated manufacturing processes in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. This role ensures process conformance and coordinates engineering, tooling, and quality changes within the assigned area or department. The supervisor will drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale initiatives while providing coaching and mentoring on World Class Manufacturing techniques for problem-solving and corrective action implementation.

The role involves interfacing with Corporate Engineering, Program Management, Product Engineering, and Supplier Quality to ensure compliance with build requirements and to drive product changes that improve quality.

Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of bargaining unit employees.
  • Manage Process Sheets through the Advanced Manufacturing Planning System (AMPS), propose modifications, and ensure process standardization across all shifts.
  • Analyze quality data, prioritize issues, and provide improvement recommendations to the team.
  • Manage and lead part/process changes affecting the production floor.
  • Audit and manage process parameters, identifying optimal strategies based on CP-CPK results.
  • Root cause vehicle dimensional parameter issues to improve quality metrics.
  • Ensure non-conforming parts are identified and processed.
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders, Engineers, and other roles in continuous improvement activities.
  • Actively participate in and lead kaizen projects centered on Safety, Cost, Quality, throughput improvements, and waste reduction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • Ability to work any shift and overtime as required.
  • Excellent organization, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interface with employees at all levels, from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership.
  • Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers.
  • Goal-oriented self-starter with the ability to lead teams.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Paint Shop experience, particularly with Powder Application.
  • Master’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous manufacturing supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a union environment.
  • Experience with continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering documents, technical standards, and design specifications.
