At Motorola Solutions, we believe that everything starts with our people. We’re a global close-knit community, united by the relentless pursuit to help keep people safer everywhere. We build and connect technologies to help protect people, property and places. Silvus Technologies, a leading provider of advanced MANET and MIMO communications systems, is reshaping mesh network technology for mission-critical applications—on the ground, in the air and at sea. Its battle-proven StreamCaster family of MANET radios and proprietary MN-MIMO waveform provides the vital communications link for defense, law enforcement and public safety agencies around the world, and in the toughest operational environments.

About the role

Silvus is seeking a highly motivated Technical Product Manager (TPM) to drive technical requirements, backlog ownership, market adoption, and revenue growth of our Spectrum Dominance product portfolio. This position will report to the Director of Product Management on the Product team. The successful individual in this role will play a vital role in translating complex defense requirements and highly advanced R&D algorithms into software features, firmware builds, and intuitive operator experiences. This is an execution-focused role that acts as the key technical conduit between our advanced waveform R&D team and our engineering, operations, and go-to-market teams.

The Technical Product Manager will take technical ownership of Silvus' spectrum dominance suite. Their mission is to translate complex mathematical algorithms and signal processing research—specifically in Low Probability of Intercept / Low Probability of Detection (LPI/LPD) and anti-jamming—into actionable requirements. By bridging the gap between theoretical R&D and reliable military systems engineering, the Technical Product Manager will ensure Silvus outpaces emerging electronic warfare (EW) threats and delivers robust software-defined spectrum dominance.

This role requires up to 25% travel to support field testing, customer integrations, or customer meetings. This position is located at Silvus Technologies’ Engineering and R&D Office in Irvine, CA, on a hybrid schedule: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays at our Irvine office and Thursdays at our West Los Angeles HQ.

Responsibilities

  • Product Definition & Technical Execution
    • Requirements Engineering: Translate abstract DoD mission requirements, mathematical signal analysis concepts, and electromagnetic spectrum operations needs into highly structured user stories and technical specifications.
    • Algorithm-to-Feature Translation: Directly partner with R&D engineering to translate complex, cutting-edge LPI/LPD and anti-jam techniques into a clear feature set with an intuitive operator experience.
    • Product & Waveform Ownership: Own the end-to-end software and firmware backlog, requirements definition, and user experience for the spectrum dominance features.
    • Technical Waveform Alignment: Partner with the R&D and software engineering teams to ensure advanced waveforms integrate seamlessly with our MN-MIMO architecture and flagship StreamCaster hardware platforms.
  • Tactical Lifecycle & Agile Backlog Management
    • Sprint & Backlog Ownership: Conduct highly disciplined sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release cadences via Jira to ensure a predictable and rapid delivery pipeline of spectrum dominance software and firmware updates.
    • Scope & Trade-off Analysis: Conduct technical and schedule analyses of customer and sales feature requests, evaluating engineering development timelines, and establishing strict scope boundaries to balance schedule constraints against field expectations.
    • Closed-Loop Feedback Integration: Systematically capture operational feedback, field trial results, and operator testing notes to continuously evolve backlog user stories and transform field-tested waveforms into robust commercial software solutions.
    • Post-launch Performance and Adoption: Responsible for product adoption and collaborating with sales to generate interest and revenue growth for the products. Measure and monitor product performance, define continuous software refinement cycles to address user experience debt or newly discovered threat vectors, and continue to capture customer and field feedback for product updates.
  • Customer Integration & Cross-Functional Alignment
    • Cross-Functional Synergy: Bridge the gap between R&D, software engineering, operations, and the GTM teams to align product execution with broader business strategy, software monetization, licensing, and delivery timelines.
    • Operational Feedback Loop: Translate market intelligence, upcoming DoD program specifications, and competitor threat assessments into strategic backlog priorities to maintain Silvus' market-leading technology edge.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, RF Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of technical product management or systems engineering experience within the defense, aerospace, or wireless communications industries.
  • Strong working knowledge of signal processing, wireless communications, RF systems, software-defined radios (SDRs), digital signal processing (DSP), or mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs).
  • Demonstrated experience translating highly complex mathematical algorithms, scientific concepts, or military use cases into structured, clear, and actionable software requirements and user stories.
  • Proven ability to influence and align cross-functional R&D, engineering, operations, and sales teams without direct authority to meet strict release timelines.
  • Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to clients under U.S. government contracts.
  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with Low Probability of Intercept / Low Probability of Detection (LPI/LPD), electronic counter-countermeasures, anti-jamming, or spectrum monitoring solutions.
  • Familiarity with passive RF sensing, spectral analysis, Direction Finding, Angle of Arrival localization, or tactical signal intelligence systems.
  • Understanding of government compliance targets, military environmental standards (MIL-STD), or security certifications (e.g., FIPS 140-3 and CSfC validation architectures).
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, RF Engineering, Computer Science, or an MBA from an accredited institution.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices and managing complex backlogs using tools like Jira.
