About the role

The Production Deployments domain owns the end-to-end lifecycle of production services at Agoda—from initial deployment through operating, scaling, day-to-day management, and eventual retirement. This work spans more than a thousand services in production and includes deployment orchestration, private cloud runtime environments, service controls, and cost-aware resource management. The domain is central to Agoda’s Production Excellence, balancing developer autonomy with the guardrails required for reliability, security, and efficiency at scale.

Opportunity

This is a high-impact role shaping how thousands of services run in production—enabling teams to move quickly while providing the visibility, controls, and standards required to operate reliably at scale.

In This Role, You’ll Get To:

  • Own the full product lifecycle for production deployment and runtime platforms—from discovery and design through adoption and continuous improvement.
  • Define a clear long-term vision for managing production services, including deployment, operating, scaling, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Partner with platform engineers, SREs, and service owners to identify operational challenges and prioritize high-impact platform capabilities.
  • Enable safer and more efficient releases through automation, standardization, and platform guardrails.
  • Drive visibility and controls around resource usage and cost, enabling teams to optimize and right-size their services.
  • Design and evolve self-service capabilities and controls that allow teams to manage services independently while meeting reliability and security standards.
  • Balance delivery velocity with reliability, capacity management, and cost efficiency.
  • Define and track key metrics across the service lifecycle, including deployment frequency, change failure rates, resource utilization, cost efficiency, and recovery time.
  • Communicate clearly across engineering and leadership, including during complex or high-impact production situations.
  • Demonstrate strong ownership and execution, driving initiatives from concept through broad adoption across a large engineering organization.
  • Stay current with industry practices in CI/CD, cloud platforms, platform engineering, cost optimization, and large-scale service operations, and apply them pragmatically.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Experience working in or closely with production environments, with understanding of how services are deployed, operated, scaled, and supported in live systems.
  • Ability to understand developer and service-owner requirements at a technical level, including the workflows and controls needed to operate applications in production.
  • Proven ability to navigate differing requirements, such as speed vs. safety, flexibility vs. standardization, and team-specific needs vs. platform consistency.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical product or program management within a highly technical environment.
  • Strong product thinking and communication skills, with the ability to influence and align engineering teams without direct authority.
  • Experience defining strategy, setting priorities, and delivering platform capabilities used by many teams.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives involving infrastructure, cloud, or internal developer platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to clearly articulate technical trade-offs and decisions.
  • Working familiarity with common production concepts such as containerized services, service discovery, service meshes, or orchestration platforms.
  • Data-driven mindset; comfortable working with metrics, dashboards, or SQL to inform decisions and measure impact.
  • Highly organized and adaptable, comfortable operating in ambiguous spaces with evolving requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with product and delivery tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
  • Curiosity, ownership, and a continuous-improvement mindset, focused on enabling engineers to operate services effectively at scale.

Requirements

  • Successful candidate must relocate fully to Bangkok, Thailand, where relocation support is provided.
