Technical Product Manager
About the Company
We are a leading media and entertainment organization delivering television and streaming experiences to millions of customers nationwide. Behind those experiences is a complex technology ecosystem responsible for bringing new products, pricing, promotions, and customer offers to life across digital, sales, ordering, billing, and customer care channels. Our Technology organization works closely with Marketing and other business teams to translate customer and commercial strategies into the systems and capabilities required to execute them. This team sits at the intersection of business strategy and technology—connecting Marketing, Product, Sales, Customer Care, Architecture, Engineering, and Operations to successfully deliver highly visible initiatives across the enterprise.
Job Summary
The Technical Product Manager will serve as a critical bridge between Marketing and Technology, translating business strategies for new products, promotions, pricing, and customer offers into clear technical requirements that Engineering and IT teams can successfully build and deploy. Sitting within IT, this individual will partner with Marketing as an internal customer—gathering requirements, understanding the underlying business objective, defining features and user stories, and working closely with Developers, Architects, Sales Operations, Customer Care, and other technical and business stakeholders throughout implementation. You'll lead complex initiatives that frequently span multiple systems and organizations and may not follow a predefined or repeatable framework. The ideal candidate combines strong technical product management and requirements expertise with an understanding of the entertainment industry and the customer lifecycle. Success requires someone who can speak both languages: understanding what the business is trying to accomplish and translating those needs into the IT systems, components, requirements, and capabilities necessary to make it happen.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technology partner to Marketing, translating business strategies and customer offer concepts into actionable technical requirements.
- Gather, analyze, document, and refine business requirements while helping stakeholders clarify objectives, dependencies, constraints, and success criteria.
- Translate complex business needs into features, user stories, functional requirements, and other technical documentation used by Engineering and IT teams.
- Lead the technology implementation of new products, promotions, pricing changes, marketing offers, and customer lifecycle initiatives across the portfolio.
- Define and refine the detailed offer attributes, business rules, variables, and system requirements necessary to successfully configure and launch complex customer offers.
- Lead cross-functional programs spanning Marketing, IT, Engineering, Architecture, Sales Operations, Customer Care, Legal, Product, and other enterprise stakeholders.
- Partner closely with developers and architects to evaluate technical solutions and ensure proposed approaches appropriately support broader business requirements.
- Manage initiatives from requirements gathering and solution development through implementation, validation, launch, and ongoing lifecycle management.
- Lead multiple complex projects simultaneously, typically delivering 2–4 major product or offer initiatives each quarter.
- Participate in quarterly PI Planning and partner with Agile delivery teams to prioritize requirements, dependencies, and implementation activities.
- Conduct ongoing risk analysis, identify technical and operational dependencies, proactively address roadblocks, and recommend alternative solutions when necessary.
- Serve in a consultative capacity to Marketing and business stakeholders, helping identify solutions that achieve the desired business outcome while accounting for technical feasibility and enterprise dependencies.
- Provide ongoing product surveillance and support for established products, offers, and promotions to ensure continued operational and financial performance.
- Develop and deliver regular executive-level updates regarding program status, risks, dependencies, decisions, and upcoming milestones.
- Build strong relationships across business and technology organizations while driving alignment, accountability, and successful delivery.
