About the role
Assist planning team to develop plans for executing work, identifying technically accurate material for procurement, and writing technical work instructions for the production/execution team. This position also includes conducting on-site reviews of shipboard conditions, proper filing of documentation, providing accurate work status, and other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assist with structural inspections at designated locations.
- Obtain IMIA's structural inspector certification.
- Identify, document and report deficiencies found onboard naval vessels.
- Work with production team to develop structural plans.
- Assist in developing work packages for production use.
- Learn to review work specifications and technical standards to develop work instructions for trades use.
- Learn to interpret NAVSEA drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Determine Objective Quality Evidence requirements from guidance documents.
- Learn to develop job material list from technical references and drawings.
- Learn to determine material and quantities of material required to perform the work.
- Resolve technical specification conflict or suitable substitutes.
- Assist purchasing with finding qualified vendors.
Requirements
- Ability to enter and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to communicate effectively and multi-task.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED.

Pay
PAY RANGE: $25.00-$27.00 per hour DOE
Schedule
Full Time, may require overtime work 50 to 60 hours per week
