About the role

As a Technical Operator you will be responsible for maintaining, operating and improving equipment to meet key operational targets in safety, quality, productivity, cost and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, repair and improve lines to deliver the production plan at maximum efficiency and quality.
  • Lead daily performance reviews and ensure timely corrective actions, ensuring that all team members are fully trained to required standards.
  • Cook up operator activities to optimise skills and resources.
  • Plan, resource and continuously improve changeovers to minimise waste and meet area targets.
  • Drive ongoing improvement of team performance and equipment reliability.
  • Plan and lead maintenance tasks ensuring repair activities are logged in CMMS and completion of autonomous and planned maintenance is actioned.
  • Lead breakdown response and coordinate engineering activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative actions.
  • Escalate line stoppages or prolonged breakdowns according to timelines.

Requirements

  • Experience with high-speed packaging lines in FMCG, food, chemical, or pharmaceutical environments is required.
  • Time-served engineer with mechanical and/or electrical training with strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering practices, GMP, and KPI-driven operations.
  • Ability to balance operational responsibilities with performance optimization.
  • Drives continuous improvement using CI tools and problem-solving approach.
