TECHNICAL MEDIA PRODUCER (ASSO) - WVIR

About the role
The #1 station in the Charlottesville market is looking for a technically savvy individual to work in a brand-new, state-of-the-art Multimedia Control Center. The role involves directing newscasts and performing duties associated with broadcasting 29News' television. WVIR-TV is the dominant station in the desirable Charlottesville market, located on the historic Downtown Mall in the heart of the city's vibrant cultural district.
The successful applicant will collaborate closely with newscast producers and anchors to create fast-paced live news broadcasts, taking responsibility for all technical aspects of the newscast, including video, audio, graphics, transitions, and camera movements.
Responsibilities
- Direct newscasts and manage live content production
- Operate and troubleshoot Ross switchers and Overdrive systems
- Oversee technical aspects of newscasts, including video, audio, graphics, transitions, and camera movements
- Collaborate with producers, anchors, editors, and other technical staff
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Experience with live content production
- Experience working with Ross switchers (Overdrive experience is a plus)
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
- Creativity and passion for live production
Qualifications
- A degree related to Film, Television, Digital Media, or Communication Studies is preferred
- Demonstrated experience in live production is preferred
