Technical Lead

About the role

The Tech Lead drives innovation, efficiency, and technical excellence within our IT department. As a key leader, you will define how the solution must look like integrated to the system landscape of the bank, oversee technical decisions, mentor engineers, and ensure the successful delivery of IT projects that align with the bank's strategic goals. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the conceptualization and design of solutions aligned with business goals and requirements, supported by a deep understanding of the current state of systems.
• Defines and communicates a clear vision for the desired future state of the organization's technology and solutions.
• Works closely with Solutions Architects, integrating their expertise and guidance into the solution design process to ensure robustness, scalability, and alignment with the overall system architecture.
• Mentor engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Collaborate with third‑party vendors.
• Work cross‑functionally with cross‑functional teams.
• Oversee the development and implementation of technology solutions.
• Ensure the security, scalability, and efficiency of IT systems by working closely with the Corporate Security Office and stakeholders to align technical strategies with business objectives.
• Oversee the development and implementation of technology solutions, ensuring each stage aligns with the bank's security requirements, risk management protocols, and compliance standards.
• Integrate security best practices into software development and infrastructure management, proactively identifying and mitigating potential vulnerabilities throughout the solution lifecycle.
• Ensure all technology solutions are scalable, efficient, and compliant with applicable financial sector regulations and internal governance controls.
• Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and provide strategic solutions.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies to enhance banking operations.
• Discuss technical implementation scenarios and collaborate closely with the DevOps, Data Engineering, BI, and Infrastructure teams to ensure effective deployment, integration, and ongoing support of technology solutions.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal English skills; Portuguese or Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a technical leadership role.
• Strong expertise in software development, tuning, and system architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with banking technologies and compliance requirements (a plus).
• Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
