Technical Lead
About the role
The Tech Lead will work with a team of engineers, developers, cybersecurity engineers, system architects, and testers. Core business hours are typically from 9 AM – 3 PM, five days a week. Hours can be flexible for either early arrivals, and/or late departures. Some after hours or weekend work may be required to accommodate system deployments and upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance to the team’s System Engineers and Developers
- Provide status updates to contract PMO and government staff lead
- Aid in completing monthly Program Management Review (PMR) charts
- Represent the team at staff meetings, requirements meetings, tech lead meetings, and TEMs
- Represent the team at community wide working groups and coordinate the sponsor’s response to action items
- Shepherd new requirements through the sponsor’s requirements process/pipeline
- Ensure designs are compatible with the architecture and security requirements
- Work with the team’s security engineer to address/mitigate security findings stemming from system security scans
- Prepare communications for upcoming releases
- Work with the government staff lead and project team lead to prioritize work
- Work with all Cloud Service Providers to meet their PKI requirements
- Research new technologies/products that will help increase the overall Authentication security posture for sponsor systems
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Master’s degree and 15+ years of experience
- Significant experience with System Architecture and Engineering
- Familiarity with the sponsor’s enterprise systems
- Significant experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Microsoft, Google, and/or Oracle)
- Strong, hands-on experience with Linux (CLI)
- Experience with scripting and programming languages like BASH and Python
- Experience in working on teams utilizing Agile workflows and processes
- Experience with Jira
Qualifications
- Experience with PublicKey Infrastructure (PKI) and understand key concepts like digital certificates, Certificate Authorities (CAs), Registration Authorities (RAs), key management practices, cryptographic algorithms, certificate revocation procedures, and trust chains
- Experience working with CloudFormation / Puppet / Groovy, or other configuration and automation tools
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL / MariaDB, Oracle)
- Experience with Jenkins
- Experience with containers
- Experience working in a cloud-based environment (AWS)
Skills
While not required, it is highly desirable for the Candidate to have knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and understand key concepts like digital certificates, Certificate Authorities (CAs), Registration Authorities (RAs), key management practices, cryptographic algorithms, certificate revocation procedures, and trust models. Additionally, the ability to design a robust system to issue, manage, and revoke digital certificates while ensuring the integrity and authenticity of users and entities within a network is desirable. Candidates who do not have all these abilities, but have the ability to learn them, will be considered.
