Technical Lead

About the role

You will contribute to multiple projects simultaneously, applying your technical knowledge to solve problems, guide design decisions, and support overall project success. Your recommendations will help shape engineering outcomes and influence important design direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform detailed engineering design on a variety of projects
• Provide technical guidance and recommendations that inform key design decisions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, efficient solutions
• Review and validate engineering work to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor for team members
• Support continuous improvement by sharing best practices and lessons learned

Qualifications

• Experience & Education:
  • Associate degree in a technical field or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology (or a related discipline), with 8+ years of relevant experience
  • OR 13+ years of relevant experience in the utility industry in place of a degree
• Technical Expertise:
  • Strong proficiency in engineering tools and platforms such as AutoCAD, GIS, EWMS, and related modeling software
  • Deep understanding of engineering principles related to electric and/or gas utility design, including system planning, constructability, and code compliance
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., NESC, NEC, DOT, and local utility requirements)
  • Familiarity with the full utility lifecycle, including design, permitting, construction, and QA/QC processes
  • Awareness of emerging technologies, tools, and trends within utility engineering and infrastructure design
