About the role

This position will be based at our Shafter, CA office and requires travel to various Central Valley business units in accordance with the teaching schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Devise technical training programs according to organizational requirements
  • Produce teaching schedules and classroom curriculum
  • Develop engaging course content using invention, imagination, and talent
  • Conceive original and creative materials, including visual, auditory, and tactile lessons
  • Execute advanced training modules independently
  • Meet with customers and provide them with a customized curriculum plan for advanced technical units
  • Arrange for and conduct on-site teaching as needed
  • Keep and report data on completed courses, absences, and issues
  • Observe and evaluate results of teaching programs
  • Determine overall effectiveness of programs and make improvements
  • Provide recommendations on student advancement
  • Use CAD/Ignition/Inventor software to create training diagrams
  • Read and create schematic diagrams for class usage
  • Coach and mentor new technical trainers and interns
  • Use professional digital cameras for photos and video
  • Use various software for video editing (Camtasia) and audio post-processing (Audacity)
  • Develop content in corporate LMS system
  • Conduct customer needs assessments with minimal assistance from the Director of Technical Training
  • Conduct field work alongside our engineering/operational teams
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Training will be provided for all tools and systems as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a relevant technical field preferred, or a minimum of 3 years of equivalent experience in operations or a related technical field
  • Outstanding communication skills and comfort in speaking to groups
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical, mechanical, industrial automation, or related technical fields
  • Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and members outside of the department/organization
  • Strong proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Some international travel may be required

Pay

Pay Range: $80,000 and may include a discretionary bonus. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills and experience.
