About the role

The Technical Instructional Systems Designer (TISD) supports an innovative training program for the Customer's main technical training office. The primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing occupational skillsets through dynamic content creation and design of class activities.
  • Collaborating with other instructional designers and instructors to create content for technical occupational cadres, including scenario-based learning.
  • Maintaining the currency of course materials and conducting course reviews to gather feedback and implement adjustments.
  • Utilizing project management skills to ensure effective course development and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple training efforts by providing TISD support to technical training classes.
  • Create lesson plans and learning requirements for technical occupational cadres.
  • Design and develop courses for technical occupational cadres, including scenario-based learning.
  • Work with other instructional designers and instructors to create content for technical occupational cadres.
  • Ensure effective course development and delivery through project management skills.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and (15) years or more of related experience.
  • Masters and (13) years or more experience; PhD or JD and (10) years or more experience.
  • An ISD certification with 5 years course development experience in the past 7 years after the certificate award.
  • 3 years of experience required of adult learning in any of the following areas: instructional design, instructional technology, experiential learning, or closely related field.
  • 3 years of experience creating instructional content for adult learners supporting a broad range of training modalities (synchronous, asynchronous, instructor led, web-based training, virtual learning, and/or blended courses).
  • 1 year experience with the IC working in a technical mission area.
  • Demonstrated experience designing technical course content for the IC.
  • Knowledge of multimedia production tools and methodology, such as Learning Management Systems, collaboration tools, MS One Note, WordPress, Adobe Captivate, Multimedia tools including the Adobe Creative Suite, and a strong, technical aptitude to quickly learn new software and hardware.

  • Experience incorporating technology such as gaming, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, AI/ML modalities in course content.
