General Summary
JOB DESCRIPTION Plays a crucial role in the implementation and ongoing training of Epic Systems within WellSpan. Collaborates closely with subject matter experts, analysts, trainers and project managers to develop high-quality training resources to support end-users in effectively utilizing Epic and IT Supported Applications.
Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Designs and develops instructional materials, including eLearning modules, instructor-led training materials, job aids, and simulations, to support end-user training on Epic Systems and related third-party software.
- Creates engaging and interactive training content that aligns with adult learning principles and best practices in instructional design. Collaborates with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of training materials.
- Develops and facilitates train-the-trainer programs to empower internal trainers with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver effective training to their respective departments. Mentors internal trainers to gain additional knowledge and skillsets to support end users and needs of the organization.
- Facilitates training sessions for end-users, including clinicians, administrative staff, and IT professionals, both onsite and virtually. Adapts training delivery methods to accommodate different learning styles and preferences.
- Provides ongoing support and guidance to end-users during and after training sessions.
- Quality Assurance: Conducts regular reviews and updates of training materials to reflect software updates, enhancements, and changes in organizational workflows. Evaluates the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and feedback mechanisms, and makes recommendations for improvement as needed.
- Collaboration: Collaborates with key stakeholders, including IT staff, project managers, department leaders, and end-users, to understand training needs, prioritize initiatives, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Change Management: Supports change management efforts related to the implementation of Epic Systems, including communication, stakeholder engagement, and resistance management.
- Integration of Third-Party Software: Researches, evaluates, and incorporates third-party software applications into training curriculums as needed, ensuring seamless integration with Epic Systems. Collaborates with vendor representatives and internal stakeholders to understand the functionality and use cases of third-party software and develops appropriate training materials. Provides guidance and support to end-users on how to navigate and leverage third-party software within the context of Epic workflows.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintains detailed documentation of training materials, including version control, release notes, and user guides. Generates reports on training activities, attendance, and outcomes to track progress and measure the impact of training initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED With 5 years of Healthcare Training Development Experience Required or Bachelors Degree Required Masters Degree Preferred
- Work Experience: 3 years Relevant experience in education and curriculum development Required
- Licenses: Certified in Epic within 180 days Required
- Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities: Assignment may require knowledge of computer software and operations. Duties will include problem solving, decision making, trouble shooting, critical thinking, and collaboration with all stakeholders.
