About the role

To support Amazon LEO, the Ground Infrastructure Services Physical Security team is seeking a Physical Security Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to drive the deployment of physical security systems across Amazon LEO's expanding ground terminal network. This role focuses on pioneering new technologies, continuously improving deployment models for ground terminal launches, managing data center and colocation requirements with emphasis on physical infrastructure and physical security components.

As TIPM, you will bridge the LEO Security, Networking, and Engineering teams with Ground Infrastructure Services, ensuring seamless integration of physical security solutions. You'll collaborate with Infrastructure Operations teams to develop innovative solutions that enhance site safety, security, and operational efficiency, directly impacting the security posture and operational excellence of our global ground infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end strategy and execution for deploying physical security technologies and process automation across LEO ground infrastructure.
  • Define and drive the global strategy for physical security systems, aligning cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, repeatable deployment models across diverse geographies and regulatory environments.
  • Influence and align Security, Engineering, Operations, and external vendors to deliver integrated security solutions; negotiate priorities, resolve competing requirements, and drive accountability across organizations.
  • Establish program metrics that quantify effectiveness and operational efficiency; leverage data to drive prioritization, trade-off decisions, and reporting.
  • Manage complex, cross-functional programs with interdependencies across multiple teams and geographies; proactively identify and mitigate risks, unblock teams, and escalate effectively to maintain delivery speed.
  • Evaluate physical security system designs for deployment; identify technical design gaps and provide actionable feedback to engineering teams to improve scalability, reliability, and automation readiness.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives that streamline deployment workflows, eliminate redundant steps, and create predictable, repeatable processes.
  • Document and standardize processes for vendor sourcing, system integration, and hardware configuration, creating scalable playbooks.

About the team

Join a team at the forefront of space-based communications infrastructure, where your work directly enables Amazon's ambitious satellite initiatives. You'll have the opportunity to solve unprecedented security challenges at global scale while working with technology and world-class talent.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technology field.
  • Experience with technical designs, scoping, scheduling, budgeting, quality, risk management, vendor management, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience with security design, installation, maintenance of physical security requirements for data centers and colocated server racks.
  • Experience in large-scale IT and networking deployment, including integration of physical security systems with network infrastructure.
  • Experience defining program strategy and organizational planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Experience establishing metrics and using data to drive prioritization and executive-level decision making.
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvement that reduced deployment cycle time or improved operational efficiency.
  • Travel 25% or more.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program management or technical project management experience.
  • 8+ years of experience managing large-scale, technical deployment of physical security systems including Physical Access Control, Intrusion Detection, Alarms, Video Surveillance, Visitor Management, and connecting systems to a Security Operations Center.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification with demonstrated application to infrastructure deployment processes.
  • Experience with physical security deployments in telecommunications, satellite, or critical infrastructure environments.
