Responsibilities
- Support various infrastructure and compute requirements across multiple locations.
- Build and maintain infrastructure platforms based on VMWare and Linux stack.
- Embody eagerness to create and own processes for enhancing the team and streamlining processes.
- Design and deploy functional networks and private cloud platforms (LAN, WAN, on prem compute).
- Resolve issues escalated by lower service desk tiers by troubleshooting deployed, cloud, and local infrastructure.
- Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness.
- Mentor team members on technical issues.
- Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery).
- Communicate with users to design and field optimal solutions.
- Design and implement solutions to deliver superior network performance, capacity and scalability.
- Maintain complete technical documentation in support of Authorization To Operate (ATO) packages.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years actively developing and/or managing virtual technologies including VMWare, Linux, OpenShift, Kubernetes and Docker.
- 3+ years of management experience and 10+ years of total professional experience.
- Demonstrable foundation in microservices, software design for cloud.
- Experience leading distributed multi-disciplined teams across different time zones.
- Experience leading teams for cloud-native architectures (Microservices, security, compliance, etc.) at scale.
- Experience managing teams of 5-10 people with measurable team and product success.
- Technical leadership and management experience in IT infrastructure engineering and DevOps environments.
- Excellent organizational and mentoring skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- Detail oriented.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
