About the role
MLT Systems supports Program Manager Tactical Communications & Electromagnetic Warfare Systems (PM TCE) by providing a Technical Editor to review, proofread, and modify technical, program, and acquisition documentation.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical writer, reviewing, proofreading, and modifying documentation including system specifications, user manuals, software products, and special reports.
- Leverage knowledge of Military Standards, Department of the Army, or Department of Defense technical writing style manuals, format guides, General Services Administration printing regulations, and/or special instructions to deliver compliant program documentation.
- Provide editorial and quality assurance support for documents, functional descriptions, system specifications, user manuals, reports, training materials, and other customer deliverables to support and/or participate in formal and informal reviews throughout the development cycle.
- Deliver technical writing and editing support for formal acquisition documentation, ensuring consistency, format, language, grammar, and technical accuracy.
- Provide end-to-end document process support, including coordination with government personnel for timely document reviews, verifying signature authority, maintaining electronic libraries, and supporting recurring and ad-hoc requests for information.
- Participate in Working Groups, Integrated Product Team Meetings, Technical Reviews, and Decision Briefings with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 0–3 years of experience.
- Secret Clearance preferred; ability to obtain Secret Clearance required.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) and Marine Corps policies related to complex acquisition analysis, planning, and management support, including DoD Instruction 5000.02, Adaptive Acquisition Framework, and the Marine Corps Systems Command Acquisition Guidebook.
- Proficiency using data repositories and document management tools such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Teams.
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, speak, and hear.
- Use of hands and arms for routine work tasks.
- Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 30 pounds.
- Vision abilities including close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
