About the Role
The Technical Director at Collegium Center Stage Theater (CCST) provides administrative, creative, and instructional support to the CCST Director throughout the production of the CCST Spring Musical. The successful candidate will participate in creating and maintaining a professional climate that promotes student growth.
Responsibilities
- Enforces the CCS Student Code of Conduct, the CCS Uniform Code, and the CCS Computer Usage Code.
- Promotes good citizenship through actions as a role model.
- Conducts himself or herself according to professional, ethical principles that reflect favorably upon the individual and the school.
- Maintains the highest level of confidentiality pertaining to school and students' information, progress, and records.
- Assumes other responsibilities assigned by supervisor and/or school administrator.
- Abides by the CCS Employee Manual, CCS policies and procedures, and all current PA Public School expectations.
- Assists CCST Director with the production of the annual fall play and/or spring musical.
- Collaborates with PAC Coordinator/CCST Director to ensure that all technical needs of their creative vision are achieved to the best of their ability.
- Attends and assists with all scheduled rehearsals and set-building sessions, particularly during the final week of the production.
- Assists with supervision of student stage crew, technical crew, and prop masters.
- Manages all aspects of stage crew and technical crew, including set, lighting, and sound design, as well as set construction as needed.
Requirements
- Experience with theatrical productions (plays and musicals) as both a performer and a Production Team Member (preferred but not required).
- Experience with lighting systems: ETC, hanging, focus, patching.
- Experience with wireless sound systems: Shure, Dante systems, digital consoles.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret communications about props, set, and technical needs as set by the CCST Director.
- Ability to work as part of a production team and maintain a professional working environment.
- Ability to adequately and effectively communicate and collaborate with other production team members, students, parents, and all other stakeholders to ensure student safety and success.
- Required clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receipt.
- Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School.
