Technical Designer - Women's Sleepwear Apparel

About the role

Position: Technical Designer - Women's Sleepwear Apparel (Rose International). Location: Manhattan, NY, USA 10038. Work model: Onsite, standard work hours. Employment type: Temporary, part‑time (average 32 hours/week). Estimated duration: 3 months. The client is the world’s largest intimates’ specialty retailer, offering bras, panties, lingerie, casual sleepwear, swim, athleisure, prestige fragrances and body care. This individual‑contributor role executes the technical design process from development to final fit.

Responsibilities

• Execute the technical design process from development to final fit.
• Analyze and evaluate garments to develop correct fit specifications.
• Ensure products are developed consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities, and cost specifications.
• Develop technical specifications and communicate fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections.
• Make adjustments with factories as required to maintain design‑approved prototype integrity while monitoring quality and target price.
• Typically reports to the Technical Services Manager.
• May direct Assistant or Associate Technical Designers.

Requirements

• 5‑10 years’ experience in technical design, specifically women’s casual sleepwear.
• Strong pattern‑making background with knits and wovens (5‑10 years).
• PLM experience or training; Centric PLM preferred (1+ years).
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Adobe Illustrator, Flex PLM (or similar).
• Fast and efficient worker.
• Experience participating in and/or owning fittings.
• Experience writing fit comments and pattern corrections.
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or equivalent experience (preferred).
• C2C arrangements are not available for this position.

Pay

Min Hourly Rate: $41.00 – Max Hourly Rate: $48.00

Average work hours: 32 hours per week (onsite, standard work hours).
