Technical Designer - Retail & Hospitality - Mid Level

About the role

The Bay Area Lifestyle Studio at Gensler is seeking a Mid-Level Technical Designer with 5-10 years of experience to join our dynamic team. This role involves collaborating on retail and hospitality projects, working across all phases of design, and ensuring projects are delivered with design integrity, precision, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and production
• Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
• Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or a foreign equivalent
• 5-10 years of related project experience
• Proficiency in Revit
• Experience in retail, hospitality, and other experience-driven lifestyle environments
• Proficiency in modeling using 2D/3D software, such as CAD, 3d Viz, 3ds MAX, and/or Rhino utilizing V-Ray (plus)
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and/or SketchUp (plus)
• Knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements
• State licensure and LEED accreditation (plus)
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and parametric design software, including Grasshopper (plus)

Pay

The base salary will be estimated between $84,000K– $108,000K plus bonuses and benefits and is contingent on relevant experience.
