Technical Designer - Mid Level

About the role

The Technical Designer will work with project teams in all project phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and implementation. They will collaborate with the design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives. The role involves producing accurate technical and contract documentation for construction, developing and participating in internal and client presentations, participating in the construction administration process, and utilizing 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts.

Responsibilities

• Work with project teams in all project phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and implementation
• Collaborate with the design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
• Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction of project
• Develop and participate in internal and client presentations
• Participate in the construction administration process ensuring the successful delivery of the design intent
• Utilize 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts
• Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a professionally accredited program
• 5-10 years of related architecture project experience
• Proficiency in Revit required, and experience utilizing other digital design tools beyond Revit
• Actively working towards achieving State licensure a plus

Qualifications

• Passion for sustainable practices and interest in working towards certification (LEED, FitWell, etc.)
• Organized, creative, collaborative, and independent with ability to work on multiple projects at the same time
• Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques is preferred
• Experience in construction document preparation and field observation is preferred
