Technical Designer
About the role
Contribute to the design and delivery of complex and impactful Hospitality, Mixed Use, Residential, Critical Facilities, Retail and Workplace projects in the Atlanta region.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a team of Architects and Interior Designers to bring design dreams to life through innovative problem solving and design best practices
- Produce technical documentation and communicate project progress to team members to ensure success
- Develop drawings, details, and diagrams using Revit, and other tools as needed
- Support all phases of the design project from conceptual/schematic design through construction administration
- Support coordination with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
- Participate in construction administration, evaluate bids, conduct site visits, address technical issues, and maintain quality control during construction
- Utilize hand drawings and 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program
- 3-6 years of relevant experience within a commercial design firm
- Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques
- Experience with all phases of the design process from schematic design through construction administration, and field observation
- Strong proficiency with Revit
- Proficiency with SketchUp, Enscape, or other 3D modeling software, and the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Passion for design excellence and continuous learning
- Demonstrated commitment to resilience and sustainable building practices
Skills
