Technical Customer Success Manager
About the role
MintMCP helps companies put agents to work safely by providing governed access to company data and tools, starting from trust. The product scopes agent access to exactly what is needed, captures data flows and audit logs, and is building the rest of the agent stack: connectors, monitoring, sandboxing, long‑running agents, and memory, with the goal of becoming the system a company’s work runs on.
The company works in person in the San Francisco Bay Area, has a flat structure, moves fast, and gives you latitude over what you work on and how. MintMCP is AI‑native: everyone uses Claude and Codex daily, there are more agents than employees, and agents run in Slack alongside the team handling sales, marketing, deal ops, and engineering on the same gateway sold to customers. Since launching in February 2026, MintMCP has grown to 50+ paying customers (including Coursera, Arlo, and Braze), is backed by Cowboy Ventures and Coatue, and has angel investors such as Frederic Kerrest (Okta), Michael Grinich (WorkOS), Andrej Karpathy, Jeff Dean, and Scott Belsky. The founders are machine‑learning experts from Stanford, Berkeley, and CMU, with applied research at Google Brain and Waymo, and one co‑founded Coursera.
Responsibilities
- Own the customer post‑sale: build the mutual delivery plan (success metrics, ownership, timeline).
- Drive onboarding, get the product live against real use cases, and stay close as usage grows.
- Track account health, run check‑ins and business reviews, catch problems before they become risks.
- Pull in engineering or founders when a customer needs more than you can handle alone.
- Own renewals and identify expansion opportunities (more teams, more agents, more of the customer’s work on MintMCP).
- Resolve escalations and own incident resolution when something is on fire.
- Advocate externally: tell customers when their request isn’t what they need and reframe it based on proven patterns.
- Advocate internally: clearly represent customer needs to founders while balancing company priorities.
- Build the post‑sales function: create delivery‑plan templates, health scoring, review rhythms, and handoff processes from sales.
- As the customer base grows, help decide future hires and grow into leading customer success.
Requirements
- Exceptional with customers: earn trust quickly and keep rollouts on track without direction.
- Proven experience owning customer relationships end‑to‑end in customer success, account management, consulting, or client‑delivery roles.
- Ability to run a plan, drive it to outcome across a customer’s team, align stakeholders, track commitments, and maintain momentum.
- Comfortable in technical conversations (not required to be an engineer) – can explain the product’s value to technical buyers and know when to bring in deeper expertise.
- Do not write config or debug integrations.
- Track record of retention and expansion, or strong commercial instinct to achieve them.
- Experience building structure from scratch: playbooks, templates, cadences, and preference for creating motions rather than inheriting them.
- Calm under pressure; own the outcome when a customer is unhappy.
- AI‑native or able to become AI‑native quickly; genuine curiosity about AI, agents, and corporate adoption.
- Fast‑moving, low‑process environment; desire to grow into leading a team.
- Bonus: AI solutions engineer or forward‑deployed engineer background.
- Experience selling to or supporting technical and engineering buyers.
- Background in enterprise rollouts involving security review, procurement, and multi‑threading.
- Comfort representing the company in person: business reviews, dinners, on‑site meetings with technical and security leaders.
