About the role

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) drives and facilitates the successful planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of Technical Consulting projects. Works with clients to ensure appropriate governance is applied to each project based on the scope and offering. The SPM is the client’s first line of contact once a project has started and serves as the focal point for all communications to the client and the Mainframe Division, including Technical Consulting, Engineering, and Support or Development. Successful project delivery is the key performance metric for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Mainframe and/or Open Systems Software projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Apply standard Work Breakdown Structures, Project Plans, Risk & Issue Management, and Project Governance.
  • Utilize PMI or similar project methodologies to deliver projects and programs.
  • Drive execution and own responsibility for the overall success of projects.
  • Address client questions regarding scope, staffing, invoicing, and resource allocations.
  • Manage shifting priorities, demands, and timelines effectively.
  • Make independent decisions and respond to client needs without constant supervision.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of project management experience, preferably in an IT environment.
  • Demonstrated mastery of IT project management using standard methodologies.
  • Proven track record of delivering large or complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Technical proficiency and strong customer-facing skills.
  • Geographic focus on North America; business travel of up to 25% yearly may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • PMP Certification or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Agile frameworks experience is a plus.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is USD 100,000 to USD 160,000.
