What You'll Do
- Build Stuff! Design, develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow applications, workflows, Service Catalog solutions, and platform customizations that support enterprise IT operations.
- Automate! Build approval workflows, task automation, and business process orchestration using Flow Designer while supporting and maintaining Legacy Workflow where required.
- Create Great Experiences! Develop Catalog Items, Variables, Variable Sets, Order Guides, Catalog Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, and dynamic catalog experiences that improve end-user productivity.
- Integrate! Configure and maintain outbound REST integrations, consume third-party APIs, manage authentication methods, and support secure data exchange using JSON, OAuth 2.0, API Keys, and Connection Aliases.
- Develop Smart Solutions! Create scalable server-side and client-side solutions using Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, GlideAjax, GlideRecord, GlideAggregate, and Scoped Applications while adhering to ServiceNow development best practices.
- Drive Quality! Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot production issues, analyze system performance, resolve defects, and ensure high-quality technical deliverables throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support the Platform! Manage Update Set migrations, roles, groups, users, ACLs, Scheduled Jobs, system properties, and instance promotions across Development, Test, and Production environments.
- Collaborate! Partner with technical leads, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements, recommend technical solutions, estimate development effort, and communicate design decisions and implementation trade-offs.
- Innovate! Participate in internal knowledge sharing, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives while staying current with new ServiceNow platform capabilities.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience with strong expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM), including Incident, Request, Task, and Change Management processes and ITIL fundamentals.
- Strong experience developing and configuring Service Catalog solutions, including Catalog Items, Variables, Variable Sets, Order Guides, Catalog Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, and dynamic catalog experiences using Reference Qualifiers and Script Includes.
- Proven experience developing scalable ServiceNow applications using Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, GlideAjax, GlideRecord, GlideAggregate, Scoped Applications, and other platform scripting capabilities.
- Experience building and maintaining Flow Designer automations, approval workflows, task orchestration, and supporting Legacy Workflow configurations.
- Hands-on experience configuring Email Notifications, Notification Templates, Event Management, and event-driven communications.
- Experience developing and supporting REST integrations, including Outbound REST Messages, JSON payload processing, authentication methods (Basic Authentication, API Keys, OAuth 2.0), and Connection Alias configuration.
- Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform administration, including Update Set migrations, conflict resolution, role and user administration, ACLs, Scheduled Jobs, system properties, and platform governance.
- Solid understanding of the ServiceNow data model, including tables, reference relationships, dictionary configuration, inheritance, and table extensions.
- Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills with experience analyzing System Logs, Transaction Logs, Background Scripts, performance issues, and identifying root causes for production defects.
- Ability to clearly explain technical decisions, evaluate out-of-box capabilities versus customization, and communicate architectural trade-offs to technical and business stakeholders.
- Extra Awesome Experience designing dynamic Service Catalog experiences with advanced conditional logic and custom pricing or calculation functionality.
- Experience developing Scripted REST APIs and exposing ServiceNow services for external integrations.
- Experience configuring and supporting OAuth Providers, OIDC Providers, Client Credentials Flow, JWT Bearer Flow, and token refresh mechanisms.
- Experience working with MID Servers, including installation, configuration, monitoring, and supporting JDBC and REST integrations.
- Knowledge of CMDB fundamentals, including Configuration Items (CIs), CI relationships, and Asset versus CI management.
- Experience implementing Hardware Asset Management Professional (HAM Pro), including Asset Lifecycle Management, Models, Model Categories, Stock Rooms, Transfer Orders, and Catalog-to-Asset integrations.
- Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, AngularJS), IntegrationHub, SOAP, LDAP, SSO, and custom scoped application development.
- CSA certification required; CAD certification preferred, along with CIS certifications in ITSM or additional ServiceNow product suites.
