We are seeking a QA Technical Consultant as part of the Project Delivery Team with a strong background in client delivery, consulting, and software implementation. This role is responsible for providing quality assurance tasks as part of the implementation projects. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset, the ability to solve complex business problems using technology and data solutions, and a proven track record of working multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

QA and Test team members may hold multiple roles across a given project or projects. The following are the role definitions as part of the Project Delivery projects:

  • Release Manager
    • Coordinate and release efforts to deliver newly packaged builds to the client.
    • Act as the project QA lead, working with all other QA members.
  • Project Test Lead
    • Attend all internal general project calls.
    • Ensure triage best practices are followed.
    • Assist with triage review and assignments; ensure defects contain all required information.
    • Coordinate with Module QAs for defect verification prior to release.
    • Coordinate with Module Devs for build releases.
    • Communicate with PM on release status, concerns, and expected release contents and defects.
    • Smoke test the full release in the client environment.
    • Create the Release Notes in PDF format for distribution.
    • Package and publish the release.
    • Email the full project (SBS and Client) team that the release is published and available.
    • Ensure defect tracker is updated for Status and assignee post-release.
    • Assist PMs with scheduling releases.
    • Administer TeamForge project (if used).
    • Work with PMs for test readiness for project test phase transitions.
    • Work with PMs for release and triage cadence cycles through the project timeline.
    • Work with PMs for meeting test cycle exit criteria.
    • Assist with E2E WIP preparation as needed.
  • System Test
    • Create and execute the End-to-End (E2E) system test prior to SIT to ensure all high-level requirements have been met and successfully configured.
    • Work with the client to gather two or three common simple workflow scenarios.
    • Decide with the client which workflow scenario will be used for the E2E WIP.
    • Create E2E WIP script document and provide to the client.
    • Work with the client for presentation of the E2E WIP and steps.
    • Create the E2E System Tests ensuring all high-level requirements are captured.
    • Provide the System Tests to the client as examples for E2E test scripts for SIT and UAT.
    • Coordinate with Module QA concerning testing status prior to execution.
    • Execute the System Test scripts in the client environment prior to SIT.
    • Report and work with the development team and Module QA for any defects found.
    • Raise issues with PM, development, and Module QA concerning test readiness concerns.
  • Module QA Responsibilities
    • Responsible for module-specific functional (unit) testing through the entire project.
    • May be assigned to one or many modules (AUD/UDH-EAM/UDH-GIS/PB).
    • For modules assigned:
      • Attend requirement gathering meetings.
      • Attend all internal general project meetings.
      • Unit test all detailed requirements in Build phase.
      • Work closely with the module development lead concerning all requirement testing and defect items.
      • Attend and eventually lead OTS sessions.
      • Attend all project SIT and UAT triage calls.
      • Verify defects fixed prior to release in SIT and UAT phases.
      • Support System Test creation and execution as needed.
      • Support Release Manager prior to release as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of QA experience.
  • Proven experience managing medium to large, complex projects.
  • Experience working in consulting or professional services environments.
  • Strong understanding of technology, information systems, data, and business processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
