Responsibilities
- Work closely with customers and serve as an active member of account teams
- Identify and position opportunities for customers to use Elanco products
- Participate in account planning and incorporate Elanco's value strategy
- Aide in the planning and preparation for new product launches
- Aide in implementing Elanco's value strategy at the customer level
- Train and coach Elanco personnel on disease, products, and industry practices
- Build relationships with and influence external customers, consultants, and academics
- Identify avenues to deliver value beyond product to customers
- Maintain good standing with and influence key industry organizations
- Conduct research utilizing approved Elanco products
- Align research with business needs and brand-specific lifecycle planning
- Ensure publication of research studies in scientific meetings and peer-reviewed journals
- Aid in R&D requests and product line extensions
- Effectively communicate within technical team and account teams
- Influence long-range strategy and product positioning
- Identify opportunities and threats for customers and Elanco
- Identify external talent for technical and other roles within Elanco
Qualifications
- PhD in Dairy Nutrition and Physiology
- 3-5 years of experience in the dairy industry
- Credibility to influence successful dairy consultants
- Expertise in technical consultancy, with special emphasis on addressing customer concerns or needs
- Demonstrated success as a dairy nutritional consultant to US dairy farms
Preferred Qualifications
- Thorough understanding of the US dairy industry
- Excellent communication (written and oral) capability
- Experience/knowledge/skills related to dairy environmental sustainability
- Demonstrated ability to effectively work in a team environment
Pay
Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $118,300 to $197,500 depending partly on the successful candidate’s qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance).
