Technical Business Development Manager
About the role
Tstrata Strengthening Solutions, a division of Structural Group, is seeking an experienced technical business development manager to join our team in Northern California. This position will be based in San Francisco with travel and remote work expected.
Responsibilities
- Develop and strengthen client relationships within the Northern California structural engineering community.
- Collaborate with Construction divisions to deliver solutions that address the toughest construction challenges.
- Deliver engineering training presentations to clients and industry groups, highlighting strengthening solutions, techniques, materials, and services.
- Participate in web-based meetings, in-person meetings, emails, and phone calls to support current and new potential clients.
- Work with the in-house engineering team and structural engineers to provide design support and technical assistance.
- Attend jobsite walks, pre-bid meetings, and project review calls.
- Maintain a pipeline of opportunities in the company's CRM and update the contact database.
- Provide technical support on strengthening projects and develop client relationships with structural engineers in the territory.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- PE license in CA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of previous engineering, construction, or technical sales experience.
- Experience as a consulting structural engineer or technical business development manager in the commercial and public building markets.
- Experience working with the structural engineering community and general contracting firms.
- Strong knowledge of the San Francisco market, including engineering firms and general contractors.
- Local travel 50% of the time.

- Capable of learning and sharing information on engineered products, their functions, applicability, standards, capabilities, and limitations.
