Job Description
Set-up, operate, optimize, changeover/troubleshoot, and maintain assigned departmental production equipment.
Responsible for meeting/exceeding production standards, maintaining product quality, minimizing/preventing equipment downtime, and sustaining budgeted waste levels on a daily basis.
Job Description and Requirements
TA's (Technical Associates) are responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on various equipment and systems.
The role requires a strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical components, along with the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of our manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Performs regular maintenance and inspections on mechanical and electrical systems, including but not limited to machinery, motors, conveyors, and control systems, to ensure optimal functionality.
- Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical issues, diagnoses problems, and carries out necessary repairs or replacements.
- Conducts preventive maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime and prolong the lifespan of machinery and systems.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs mechanical components, such as gears, bearings, belts, and hydraulic systems, as well as electrical components, including wiring, circuits, and control panels.
- Collaborates with the maintenance team to develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules and strategies that optimize production efficiency.
- Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and protocols, and participates in safety training programs to maintain a safe work environment.
- Keeps detailed records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs, parts used, and equipment performance.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in mechanical and electrical technology and participate in relevant training programs as needed.
- Maintains good housekeeping and follows established safety procedures.
- Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; reports all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- At least 2-5 years experience in machine troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance in all mechanical aspects.
- Technical certification or degree in mechanical or electrical maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical and Electrical Technician in a manufacturing environment or a similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyors, as well as electrical systems, including control panels, wiring, and circuits.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance.
- Able to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing maintenance environment.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk, bend, stoop, or crouch for 8-12 hour shifts.
- Must be able to handle machinery, equipment or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.
