Technical Assistant - Nursing I & II: Med/Surg - Nightshift

About the role

Provides patient care services, cleans, maintains and stocks supplies and equipment and applies the principles of standard precautions and infection control in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignments as delegated by the RN.
• Accesses and reports data reflective of the patient’s status to identify patient needs.
• Performs clerical, phlebotomy, safety attendant, and other duties as assigned within their scope.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Licensure: Certification from Virginia Board of Nursing - preferred.
• Additional Skills/Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally and in written form. Phlebotomy and medical terminology.

Physical Demands

• Constant standing, frequent walking, and bending/stooping.
• Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to write legibly.
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. For weights over 35 lbs., use safe handling equipment.
