Technical Assistant - Nursing

About the role

Provides patient care services, cleans, maintains and stocks supplies and equipment and applies the principles of standard precautions and infection control in a variety of settings.

Responsibilities

• Receives assignments as delegated by the RN.
• Accesses and reports data reflective of the patient’s status to identify each patient’s needs.
• Performs clerical, phlebotomy, safety attendant and other duties as assigned within their scope.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1 year of relevant experience preferred. Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Licensure: Certification from Virginia Board of Nursing - preferred.
• Additional Skills/Requirements: Ability to communicate verbally and in written form. Phlebotomy and medical terminology preferred.

Physical Demands

• Physical Demand Code: Medium to Heavy.
• Physical Demand: Constant standing, frequent walking, and bending/stooping.
• Other: Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift/push/pull 100 lbs. for weights over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment; may require the use of safety equipment, such as HEPA mask, for infection prevention; on call responsibilities as directed; ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed.

Pay

The base compensation range for this role is $16.75 - $23.39 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
