Technical Assistant

Crouse Health is seeking a Technical Assistant to join our Medical Imaging team. Since 1887, we've been dedicated to providing high-quality care in Central New York.

Responsibilities

• Professionally greets/directs patients and efficiently serves as liaison between reception and technical control area.
• Prepares materials and equipment prior to procedures and ensures rooms and equipment are cleaned and restocked in a timely manner.
• Accurately enters patient information into department computer system.
• Processes films and routinely loads and unloads cassettes, ensuring films are accurately identified.
• Updates film boards when films become available in the department.
• Proactively obtains outside films prior to patient arrival.
• Maintains supplies, equipment, and linen required for procedures and replenishes as needed.
• Removes films from film boards and files in master jackets upon case review completion.
• Affords assistance in patient scheduling and ensures timely transport of patient films/records to other departments for interpretation.
• Transports medical specimens to the lab as directed by department leadership.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• 6 months of Medical Imaging experience, preferred

Qualifications

• Current New York State certification as a Medical Imaging Technician (CMIAT)
