Technical Assist (Student/Work Study)

Assist the Technical Manager with work within the Stage and Scene Shop.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting up props and electrical equipment including microphones, lighting and special effects equipment for internal and external events.
• Operate switchboard for theater lights and sound.
• Aid in construction of scenic elements for Department of Theatre & Dance productions.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a student enrolled at the University of Michigan‑Flint.

Desired Qualifications

• An interest in theatre and/or live event production.
• Any level of experience with backstage work, A/V equipment, lighting, and construction is preferred but not required; training will be provided on the job.

Work Mode

Onsite. The work requires, or the supervisor approves, a fully onsite presence. Onsite is defined as a designated U‑M owned or leased work location within or outside of the State of Michigan. Positions eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work are at the discretion of the hiring department and are reviewed annually.
