About the role
The Technical Architect will develop, implement, and support network services and solutions for consulting clients while mentoring and sharing skills with others. This position will build a customer-focused relationship with clients to identify business challenges and develop specifications and requirements to arrive at the best solution.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Practice Leads to create and maintain documents and procedures.
- Execute, with Project Managers and Practice Leads, on large projects on time and on budget.
- Provide active leadership and articulate to the Project Management Team what is needed for success; lead other Engineers to ensure tasks are completed accurately and timely.
- Serve as the Lead Engineer on projects involving multiple technologies.
- Provide daily updates on all projects in collaboration with the Project Management Team, and proactively communicate timelines, hours, resources, and concerns to all parties.
- Proactively collaborate between different business units to provide a world-class experience for the customer.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and take a leadership role in team and customer meetings.
- Contribute to product selection and research, configuration standards, and best practices; educate sales teams on these products and services.
- Work in a team atmosphere between regional and virtual practices while maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
- Maintain current vendor/industry-specific certifications and stay current on new products and solutions.
- Continue personal growth along the guidelines of the Engineering skills matrix, improving skills in project experience, leadership, certifications, and technical expertise.
- Meet annual billable hour goal, as defined by the company.

Experience
- 5+ years in a technical-related field (required).
- 6–8 years in a technical-related field (preferred).
- 4+ years’ experience working as a Consultant (required).
Skills, Education, and Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent certifications (required).
- At least two or more Professional level certifications such as CCNP, CCP-V, VCAP-DCV, or MCA (required).
- Experience designing and architecting network-based solutions (required).
- Installing and supporting Cisco or HP/Aruba network switching and routing products (required).
- Experience with IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS (required).
- Best practices in Routing Protocols—OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, L2/L3 Architecture and Design (required).
- Experience with Multicast and QoS (required).
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, ACMP, ACCP, ACCX, ACEAP, or MCE (preferred).
- Experience with Cisco Nexus technologies such as VDC, vPC, VXLAN, etc. (preferred).
- Experience with Cisco-based ISR VPN solutions such as FLEX-VPN, GET-VPN, or DMVPN (preferred).
- Data Center/Core design, configuration, and implementation utilizing Cisco Nexus Architecture (9K, 7K, 6K, 5K, 3K, 2K, 1000V) (preferred).
- Experience with Software Defined Networking (SDA, SD-WAN) (preferred).
- Cisco/Meraki/Aruba Wireless Controller or autonomous-based design using Ekahau or similar product (preferred).
- High Density/Manufacturing/Office/Education wireless experience (preferred).
- Familiarity or experience with Meraki (Wireless, Security Products, Switches, SDWAN) (preferred).
- Citrix NetScaler ADC/SDWAN deployment (a plus).
- Experience with network security appliances including Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto firewalls, and related technology (preferred).
- Additional core technologies such as Riverbed, OpenDNS, Infoblox, Cisco Optical, NetBrain, FireEye, SolarWinds, or SPLUNK (preferred).
