Technical Aide

Position Summary

This is a temporary or on‑call position that provides technical support. The On‑Call pharmacy technician will support pharmacists in the delivery of pharmaceutical care of patients through receiving, billing, and preparing prescriptions for pharmacist review; provide patient assistance at the point of sale; and perform other technical functions to support pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

• Computer programming or operations
• Research support
• Medical patient care
• Technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication, or operation
• Other technical support functions
• Support pharmacists by receiving, billing, and preparing prescriptions for pharmacist review
• Provide patient assistance at the point of sale
• Perform additional technical functions to support pharmacy operations

Qualifications

• Current Pharmacy Technician license in the State of Michigan
• Current national pharmacy technician certification
• At least 1 year of relevant experience

Health Risks

• TB risk or work within 3 feet of patients in a health‑care setting
• Requirement to wear a respirator and comply with influenza policy
