Technical Advisor, Manufacturing Operations
About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It supports the VP/SVP Operations/Manufacturing on a wide range of tactical and strategic priorities.
Responsibilities
- Participate in the development and refinement of the Operations Strategy aligned with overall Blue Origin goals and objectives
- Manage the SVP's strategic priorities, ensuring alignment across all Operations teams and tracking progress toward goals
- Leverage organizational knowledge to determine which levers to pull to move critical initiatives quickly
- Define and drive the adoption of KPIs that tie functional activity to enterprise outcomes (getting to rate, risk reduction, employee/site safety)
- Drive special projects and strategic initiatives across Operations, including cross-functional programs that require coordination with Engineering, Business Development, and other organizational units
- Manage crisis response and contingency planning for operational challenges
- Identify process improvements and operational efficiencies across the organization
- Coordinate with Operations leadership team to maintain alignment and drive efficiency across manufacturing, test, launch, and support functions
- Optimize decision-making by conducting research/analysis and gathering key facts and perspectives from stakeholders. Translate data into actionable options
- Serve as a liaison between Operations and other departments, fostering collaboration and eliminating silos
- Represent the SVP-Operations in key meetings and forums when needed, demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making abilities as it relates to operations
- Prepare executive-level communications, presentations, and briefings for internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Operations organization.
- Support the Rhythm of the Business meetings, including preparation, reporting, and follow-up actions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related technical field (master's degree preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or high-tech operations with demonstrated strategic impact
- Experience in operations management, or similar roles
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong financial acumen with ability to "think and communicate like a CFO" - telling stories through ROI, cost, revenue, and risk metrics
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment

- Demonstrable expertise in Operations Leadership (manufacturing, supply chain, production, etc.)
- Contribution to enterprise outcomes including achieving production rates, driving margin improvement, and reducing enterprise exposure
- Demonstrable cross-functional impact through stakeholder adoption, speed of decision making, and quality of executive communications
- Effectiveness in removing obstacles to strategic initiatives
- Successful implementation of operational improvements and process optimizations
- Quality and timeliness of executive support and communications
Base Pay Range
For WA applicants is $203,165.00 - $284,430.30. Other site ranges may differ.
