Technical Advisor
About the role
Works with service providers to ensure their in-scope technical solutions align with the enterprise's business strategy and architecture.
Closely collaborates with business unit performance managers and quality assurance staff to review service provider problems, analyze and validate information, and assess the feasibility of solutions.
May troubleshoot performance issues and resolve problems with service providers.
Keeps current on industry trends and new technologies relevant to the area of expertise to inform business unit service requests and service provider proposals.
Understands the value of technology in enterprise processes and works with service providers to identify opportunities for innovation, cost reduction, and improved efficiencies.
Reviews service provider solutions and provides input into the in-scope technical architecture for outsourcing projects.

- Trains and mentors more junior technical staff.
- Keeps current on industry trends and new technologies to inform business unit service requests and service provider proposals.
- Reviews service provider solutions and provides input into the in-scope technical architecture for outsourcing projects.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of IT experience within one or more specialty areas. Deep understanding of information systems, networking theory, and architecture standards in areas of expertise.
Qualifications
- Complexity: Expert/lead technical role. Works on complex tasks, projects, or issues involving high risk and impacts business unit performance.
- Works on one or more projects as the subject matter expert or technical leader/consultant.
- Acts in a consultative manner when involved with a project team and does not provide administrative or management support.
- Uses high-level knowledge within one or more areas of specialty to solve complex tasks and issues.
- Coaches and mentors more junior technical staff.
