The Technical Accounting Lead at What To Expect Tesla is responsible for:
- Independently researching accounting guidance for unique, non-routine, and complex business transactions to develop appropriate accounting treatments.
- Preparing high-quality technical accounting memorandums on complex transactions.
- Aiding in the preparation and review of corporate accounting policies and procedures.
- Analyzing new and proposed accounting standards, determining their impact on Tesla, and implementing new standards as required.
- Working cross-functionally with other groups (e.g., FP&A, Legal, external auditors) to ensure timely identification of accounting and financial reporting matters.
- Identifying and implementing new accounting standards and processes.
The ideal candidate should have:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Active CPA and Big 4 public accounting experience.
- 5-7 years of progressive experience, including auditing, financial reporting, and/or technical accounting.
- Evidence of exceptional ability in accounting and reporting.
- A strong understanding of GAAP and the ability to clearly and concisely document and communicate complex issues.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Pay
The expected compensation range for this position is $76,000 - $144,000 annually, with details of the total compensation package provided upon employment.
